KRYPTEN received the People's Choice Award at the prestigious International competition Excellence in Holography Awards 2020, organized by International Hologram Manufacturers Association. By online voting, the winner was KRYPTEN’s 3D-Gram® security stripe presented on the “Antarctica 200 3D” house banknote.

The 3D-Gram® security stripe demonstrates a mix of state-of-the-art optical technologies and materials. The stipe incorporates a layer of demetallized holographic elements and a layer with photopolymer images. This combination creates visual effects that provide super-protection of the banknote against counterfeiting.

Demetallized Features

Demetallized images are made using high-precision micro-demetallization. The technology reproduces complex holographic designs with precise details and vibrant optical effects. The finest demetallized lines on the new security stripe form the images of the compass and monogram whilst the compass is made using holographic grey technology and the guilloche lines of the monogram feature a dynamic colour changing effect.

Photopolymer Features

The metallized layer is covered by 3D-Gram™ images that are originated in the transparent photopolymer layer. Hence they maintain the visibility of the underlying demetallized elements.

In the production of photopolymer elements, we use proprietary 3D-Gram® technology. Photopolymer images stand out for their intense colours and volume effect. The user can easily visualize on the security stripe 3D images of a whale and the commemorative dates. The images are made using 3D-Gram-C® (Colour) technology in two contrasting colours – green and red.
