60 years ago, on April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin made the world's first space flight. On the Vostok spacecraft, he orbited the Earth at an average altitude of 315 km at a speed of 28,000 km/h. The flight lasted 108 minutes. With the famous phrase of the cosmonaut “Let's Go!” a new, space era in the history of mankind has begun. The topic of space exploration is present on many of KRYPTEN’s products – in the design of security holograms, holographic overlays, and laminates.

Security holographic overlay for Roscosmos

For the State Space Corporation ROSCOSMOS, we produce a security overlay for the employees’ ID cards. The range of security features of the overlay contains visible and hidden holographic effects that provide robust security of the owner's data. The design exhibits the logo of the state corporation, images of the Soyuz MS-11 satellite, and special graphic elements. Holographic images display dynamic and colour-changing security effects, the rainbow bas-relief technology used to create a 3D logo, and hidden images on the spacecraft identified when the document is rotated 90 degrees. The background of the security overlay is filled with dots 300 microns high with a flickering effect.

The Astronaut Passport security overlay

The space theme is used in the design of the Astronaut Passport holographic overlay. The overlay was the first edition element unveiling the capabilities of our 3D-Gram® photopolymer hologram technology to protect passport pages. In 2016, the Astronaut Passport overlay got a commendation in the Innovation in Holographic Technology category of the IHMA Excellence in Holography Awards.
